Hey everyone! I thought I would start a topic for Rock Band cuz, well why not. Post stuff like vids, stats, gear, news about new DLC, or just show off how good you are. This might also be a good place to meet and get together as a band online.

There can also be discussion about the new Rock Band Network. If you don't know about it, its an awesome way to get bands out in the public eye. And for more awesome songs to come out for us players to jam to.

Some more info at:
http://www.rockband.com/rock-band-network
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Band_Network
http://kotaku.com/5346803/power-to-the-people-how-rock-band-network-expands-the-game-gets-any-song-online

Myself: (not a great FC person but I can hold my own)
Guitar, Bass - Expert
Vocals - Expert
Drums - Hard (getting better)
(I play on the 360 LIVE)

HEYYY!
this is my specialty buddy, haha.
nah im just kidding, but seriously i am quite the god at this game. I play every instrument on expert, my best being guitar/bass. I have 221 FC's on guitar (100% without breaking the combo). My most recent song being Take No Prisoners by Megadeth, here's a link to the song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZf-pIqdm3I (this isn't me but i had the same result)

Here's a few vids of my own :
Are You Dead Yet (Children Of Bodom) FC - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hnl439m8Qvw
Chiron (All That Remains) 99% - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dva2akAB ... re=related (i've fc'd this before, i just didn't want to make another vid)
Painkiller (Judas Priest) 291k - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CifeMGgm ... re=channel (i've got a new high score on this one haha

My second best instrument is drums, i've gold starred songs like Battery, Wont Get Fooled Again, Poison Was The Cure. I'm only 5k away from gold starring panic attack, and bat country.

it was one of those things where, you know its gonna happen, it just wasn't official yet. and now that it's official i'm happy. it's coming out "holiday 2010"

and if it's anything like rock band 2, they should announce the entire setlist at e3 =)

to be honest I'm not too excited about a Rock Band 3...I mean they've pretty much hit gold with the current formula so I don't see too much room for anything that would make me personally enjoy the game more...and I'm ambivalent about spending $60 on another disc that probably is only 1/3 songs that I care about, at best...

theres quite a few small things they could do that would make me enjoy the game more, such as make a countdown for when you pause the game so you don't miss the next note. Whenever no fail is on get rid of the rock meter so people who would have failed aren't constantly in the red. Add more things to the world tour and character creation. When playing online if a person doesn't have the same dlc as you, don't show the dlc they don't have or at least be able to skip over it. Add vocal harmonies, and bass/vocal solos. A better quicker way to scroll through artists (maybe have the songs collapse into the artist and you could press orange to toggle through this option and just having all the songs up. getting rid of the strum limit (if you don't know what this is, ask and i'll explain), and improved graphics. I could just go on with some huge list but i'll stop here. Like i said there is a bunch of small things that i hope are added just to make the overall gaming experience better and more realistic (while still only playing plastic representations of instruments).

ALL PRAISE HARMONIX hahaha

2 days ago was Rock Band 3's first official Press Release.

God this game has me excited, instead of posting the whole thing, I'll summarize it, and give you guys the songs announced (22/83)

Rock Band 3 will include :

A Brand New Peripheral - Yes that's right folks, on top of Vocals (now with 3 part harmonies), Guitar, Bass, Drums, Rock Band 3 will include KEYBOARD! That's right, we can now play piano/ keyboard on rock band. Now that keyboard and 2 more vocals have been included, that means 7 PEOPLE CAN PLAY AT THE SAME TIME! The Keyboard Peripheral can be either played as a sit down keyboard OR as a keytar.

Pro Mode - Have people ever made fun of you for playing rock band/guitar hero? Saying "why don't you play/learn a real instrument?!" Well now Rock Band gives you that opportunity while still playing the game. Pro Mode is designed to teach players how to play a real instrument, they come with their own set of peripherals (a rock band guitar with 6 strings and frets, drums with cymbals, etc.) There is too much to talk about pro mode and i haven't quite seen it myself yet so i'll let it be, and let you go out and read up on it.

New Song Filtering System - With the releases of Rock bands 1& 2, Lego Rock Band, Green Day Rock Band, ACDC Track Pack, and 2.5 years of weekly DLC and Rock Band Network, by the time Rock Band 3 comes out you could have over 2,000 songs on your copy of Rock Band 3 O_O, but theres no fear, Harmonix announced that there will be a new filtering system making it easier to find bands and songs you like faster without having to go through several artists to find one.

Setlist :

22 of the 83 songs have been announced, here they are .

Metric - Combat Baby
Them Crooked Vultures - Dead End Friends
The Vines - Get Free
Phoenix - Lasso
Juanes - Me Enamora
Ida Maria - Oh My God
Rilo Kiley - Portions for Foxes
The Whites Stripes - The Hardest Button to Button
Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing
Spacehog - In the Meantime
Stone Temple Pilots - Plush
Smash Mouth - Walkin' on the Sun
Ozzy Osborne - Crazy Train
Whitesnake - Here I Go Again
Joan Jett - I Love Rock and Roll
The Cure - Just Like Heaven
Dio - Rainbow in the Dark
Huey Lewis and the News - The Power of Love
Night Ranger - Sister Christian
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
The Doors - Break on Through
Jimi Hendrix - Crosstown Traffic

There is still plenty to be announced but here is the link to the official press release : http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192583
